HOW WE BEGAN:

Mr. Paulini and Ms. Howell met in May of 2007 while working together in Arkansas Rep's production of 'The Full Monty'.  That summer they recognized their shared passion for new works and artists.  Realizing the lack of true opportunity available for emerging artists, they formed Paulini & Howell Productions.  Utilizing their many industry contacts, they strive to create a bridge between emerging and established artists - between recognizable professionals and potential writers, performers, technicians and directors. They share the belief that the primary difference between famous and notable members of the visual / performing arts communities versus unknown artists with extreme potential is merely opportunity and exposure. Paulini & Howell Productions hopes to provide such exposure for many members of the creative community at varying levels of their career, whether on stage, within television or on film.  Paulini & Howell Productions encourages the creation of new, exciting and vibrant pieces of art. While respecting each artist’s process, they help to develop emerging artists by providing a strong, nurturing, professional environment in which to create.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDERS:

Ethan Paulini was born in Newton, MA and raised on Cape Cod. Having an artist for a mother and father in radio broadcasting, he expressed an interest in Creative, Performing and Media Arts. Starting at a very young age, he began acting training at the nationally recognized Harwich Junior Theatre.  He successfully auditioned for local community and professional theatre productions.  The Cape's multitude of prestigious art institutions including the Cape Playhouse, Cape Rep and Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre provided numerous opportunities to learn and work with professional theatre artists.  He appeared in commercials, industrials and a short-lived sitcom on NBC.  In addition to onstage work, Ethan began working as an intern at Cape Rep Theatre. This position allowed Ethan to develop his interest in Arts Marketing and Administration. He enrolled in Emerson College where he interned with the Head of Marketing for Emerson Stage, Sara Glidden and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with a Minor in Arts Management and Marketing.  In between semesters, he went on to become Box Office Manager, Press Representative and eventually Marketing Manager at Cape Rep Theatre;  all this while performing in many of their mainstage productions.  In New York, Ethan has worked extensively on National Tours, workshops, readings and for Major Regional Theatres. Recently, along with producing Artistic Director Janine Perry of Cape Rep Theatre, he produced and appeared in the World Premiere musical 'Back in the Day' by award-winning composer Lance Horne. He also co-produced the Original Cast Recording on Uptime Records. His experience as both an actor and administrator in many different capacities on professional sets and productions gives Mr. Paulini an extensive vocabulary on all forms of entertainment and has led him to actively pursue his Producing Interests.

Angela C. Howell wears many hats on a regular basis— actress, vocalist, composer, writer, conductor, teacher, director, and producer.  Recently, Angela has directed a number of cabarets in Manhattan, collaborating on many of their scripts.  She regularly produces benefit performances throughout New England, where local talent meshes with visiting professionals willing to aid in community efforts.  Angela has sung all over the United States and most of Europe, performing as a vocalist with many varied groups.  Angela was a featured soloist for the celebrity benefit at Town Hall honoring those who died on 9/11 (9/11 Remembered).  She has performed as a soloist with the Pulitzer-prize winning composer Jason Robert Brown.  Angela appeared at Lincoln Center in many ASCAP finalist readings including Beauty & the Beast (Bob Beverage & Paul Nahay), Bronx Primitive (Milton Schaefer), and Big Red Sun (Georgia Stitt & John Jiler).  As a Musical Director, Angela has worked everywhere from the Yale Summer Series (for gifted youth), the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (during their stay in NYC) and Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre (on multiple productions) to Circle in the Square Theatre School.  Recent directing favorites include Lucky Stiff (West End Theatre, NYC), all stage shows for Howell’nHopkins, and her concerts in the Plainfield Coffee-house Series.  Six originals off of Angela’s Daffodils album are featured in a full-length film titled “The Beginning of the End” (a finalist in the 2004 Independent Film Festival hosted at Madison Square Garden in NYC).   Angela first became interested in producing when she was afforded the opportunity to participate in the 1988 GLCA (Great Lakes Counsel on the Arts) program in New York City.  Coming from a small town in Ohio, it was quite an honor to be chosen to assist the esteemed Ira Weitzman at Playwrights Horizons.  While working as Ira’s resident assistant, she was then asked to also assist Andre Bishop, the Artistic Director (who presently heads Lincoln Center).  At Playwrights she saw firsthand how much effort was needed to assist up-an-coming talent and just how rewarding that process could be.  In addition to her daily resident duties, Angela acted as a script reader, assistant musical director (to Henry Aronson on Superbia by Jonathan Larsen), assistant director (to Daniel Sullivan on The Heidi Chronicles by Wendy Wasserstein) and part-time assistant to the business manager.  She wore many hats back then, too!
